Plymouth Arts Centre believes in the value of creative learning as part of a life-long journey of discovery.
Bringing in Baby to the Gallery welcomes parents for a tour of the exhibitions with their babies; and under 5s and their parents engage in messy, open-ended creative activities at the Creative Play art workshops. Families love coming together for our school holiday art workshops, where they make their own work inspired by the current exhibition. Plymouth Arts Centre is also committed to supporting young people working towards their Arts Award qualifications.
Plymouth Arts Centre works closely with Take A Part, which it helped to establish in 2008. Take a Part is a socially engaged contemporary art organisation that was started as a partnership project between Plymouth Arts Centre, Plymouth City Council and The Heart of Efford Community Partnership. It has gone on to be formalised as an independent Community Interest Company and work with 35 artists on 16 commissions, engaging 30,000 people directly.
