At Plymouth Arts Cinema we want to be as welcoming, inclusive and accessible as we can for all our customers, audiences, staff and visitors.
Our building is accessible, and we run an accessible programme of screenings and events. If you have any questions about accessibility, please don’t hesitate to send us an email (info@plymouthartscinema.org) or phone us (01752 206114).
Thank you to everybody who contributed to our recent survey on Accessibility. We value all of your responses. We have used some of your suggestions to make the cinema more inclusive, and are working on others.

Ticket Prices and Booking
A detailed list of our ticket prices is displayed at the bottom of our website and here.
Free tickets are available for Companions, Personal Assistants or Carers accompanying customers who are Disabled and/or customers who have a CEA card. The CEA Card enables a disabled cinema guest to receive a complimentary ticket for someone to go with them when they purchase a full price ticket (£9). The CEA Card is a national scheme developed for UK cinemas by the UK Cinema Association (UKCA).
You can book the Access Seats, Wheelchair Space and claim your free companion tickets online. Click here for the detailed instructions.
Alternatively, you can also book via our Box Office in person or over the phone during our opening hours.
When you contact us to book tickets over the phone, our policy is that payment needs to be taken straight away in order to process the booking. We do not normally reserve seats but will do so for customers who cannot book online and have sensory impairments preventing them from reading out their payment card details over the phone, in which case we will reserve seats and take payment on site.
Accessible Programme
Captioned Screenings (CS)
Screenings with descriptive subtitles for the D/deaf and people experiencing hearing loss. The subtitles display the dialogue as well as additional auditory information on the screen.
Upcoming Captioned Screenings.
Relaxed Screenings (RS)
Everyone is welcome to these screenings, but we have made them especially suitable to those with Dementia, Autism, and anyone who finds standard screenings overwhelming:
- The house lights are left on low and the sound turned down a little.
- There are no pre-feature adverts or trailers and the film starts at the time advertised.
- Maximum capacity in the cinema is reduced to 50% (=50 people).
- All tickets are £4. You can book in advance online or from our Box Office. Or you can buy your ticket from the Box Office on the day of the screening.
- Seating is allocated on our booking system, which means if you book in advance, you will be asked to select a seat. But if on the day you would like to sit somewhere else, talk to a member of the team, and we will do our best to transfer your ticket to another available seat. During the screening, you can also move around, stretch your legs, and change seats, but we ask you to be mindful of other people’s personal space. For safety reasons, please note that running isn’t allowed in the cinema.
- You can take your own soft drinks and snacks into the cinema. You can also buy drinks and snacks from our Box Office and take them in with you in the cinema. A link to our current menu is available in the “Further Information” section below.
- You are welcome to bring personal items such as blankets, ear defenders, that will help you enjoy the film but do not disrupt other people’s cinematic experience.
- Whenever possible, the Relaxed screening will also be Captioned.
Frequency: usually once a month or once a programme, on a Saturday afternoon (2.30pm)
